A note from Dr. Bill McGuire

I want to post a special note of thanks to Djorn Buchholz, who will be leaving the club next week to pursue a great opportunity with Sporting Kansas City. Djorn has helped shepherd this team forward for a number of years, many of them marked by turbulence and uncertainty. Last year he acted as CEO of the Minnesota Stars and was integral to keeping the team intact while it was under NASL (league) ownership.
He deserves accolades for his continued devotion and commitment to professional soccer in our state. Without his efforts, it is likely that none of us would have been able to experience that 2-0 shutout on Saturday, get revved up for the upcoming home match against Carolina or dream about the expanding possibilities for Minnesota United FC and its place in the soccer in our communities and this region. We are indebted to Djorn, wish him the very best, and we know that his legacy will always include our successes as we move forward in this new era.
